A once in a lifetime opportunity to experience blacksmithing! Students will learn beginner skills while crafting three different projects: A Railroad spike knife, ‘S’ Hook, and Shepherd Hook Bookmark. Learn the basics of the forge, hammer strikes, stock management, twisting, and more!
While Rusty is by no means an expert, we want to provide as many people as possible an opportunity to experience this trade. We look forward to introducing you to this fantastic craft and want to send you out with three things you made! We encourage you to bring a friend to help video and take pictures.

Class is 2-3 hours, to be used in 2021 -- will be scheduled via email. If you are giving this as a gift, please contact us and we will provide an engraved wood gift certificate for you to give.
Liability release form required. 12 years or older. Minors must have an accompanying guardian throughout the entire class. Please understand that smithing takes some arm strength, especially the knife. Your success on three projects depends to some degree on your stamina. We are certainly happy to hop in and assist but really try to limit how much we touch your project (Sloyd philosophy). If you have concerns, please talk to us and we'll be glad to accommodate you in any way possible!
